About Our Company:
Haleakala Florist offers full service floral designs for all occasions including weddings, parties, funerals, and office & home delivery throughout the island of Maui. Haleakala Florist is a division of Paradise Flower Farms, Inc. which is currently celebrating its 30th year in business. Paradise Flower Farms, is a third generation company farming on 50 acres of land on the slopes of Haleakala Crater on the island of Maui. Current owners, Craig and Teena Rasmussen have recently been joined by both of their daughters who represent the third generation in the company. The farms produce cut flowers and lei flowers, and leis for the wholesale and retail markets. We ship fresh flower leis and tropical gift boxes throughout the US & Canada via our Internet website featuring Hawaiian Flowers and Leis.

ERICA RASMUSSEN AIFD, CFD


   Erica Rasmussen, a member of the American Institute of Floral designers and a graduate of University of Colorado at Boulder in Business Management, has pursued a career in the floral business that her grandparents started in 1976. Erica is the third generation working in the business, and is the general manager of Haleakala Florist.

BJ Dyer, Erica Rasmussen, and Rene' van Rems at AIFD Symposium 2009   Erica has had formal floral training from some of the top people in the industry: Phil Rulloda, Rene van Rems, Hitomi Gilliam, Paul Miller, and Jay Schwanke.

   Erica has developed a contemporary, yet classic style. She is gifted in creating trend-setting wedding and prom designs. Her work has been featured in Maui No Ka Oi Magazine (June 2009) and Denver Magazine (April 2009).

   She has been an active participant in “Growing Dreams” a floral/fashion extravaganza that benefits the foster child programs at Maui Youth and Family Services.

   Erica says, “I was born and raised on Maui, and after working in the Denver/Boulder area for 6 years, I feel incredibly lucky to be coming home to manage Haleakala Florist. It is time for me to be here and take the company forward, and at the same time, give back to the community that has given me so much.”
